Our fourth grade scholars will participate in a special monthly partnership with the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Senior Education Department Stamp Club. Through this collaboration, students will explore the art and history of stamp collecting while deepening their knowledge of influential African Americans.
Throughout the school year, scholars will study the lives and contributions of the following prominent figures:
- Whitney Moore Young – January
- Jackie Robinson – February
- Phyllis Wheatley – March
- Scott Joplin – April
- Carter G. Woodson – May
In March, our students will also have the exciting opportunity to take part in the unveiling of the 2026 Black Heritage stamp.
This meaningful community partnership brings together the art of stamp collecting and the joy of learning, enriching the educational experiences we offer our scholars.
